I like the "grey fox in the rocks" pic.....looks like a nice cat location that the grey may have stumbled into?
Probably more jealous of the t-shirt weather pics!

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. Mark, that fox was caught in an ideal cat location, never did catch a cat there just not enough time. About 100 feet to left of the photo a big natural water hole is formed in a piece of solid rock in that dry wash, so when it rains it can hold water for a very long time, tons of cat tracks for what little dirt was there. Seed for next year!

Did I see a Jake pan in the one exposed, pinched-down, only-one-place-to step set with the spray bottle and big white belly???
When I was "taught" that set by the Nevada guys, I swear they like their levers or springs parallel to the trail vs. perpendicular like you do.....have you found any difference one way or the other??
Lastly, the double on cats in the trees....were they taken in a two-trap set like you show? If so, how cool is that??? And IF that IS true, is it fair to assume that was a momma and one of her female offspring?
Good stuff.......super stuff, I meant!

And IF that IS true, is it fair to assume that was a momma and one of her female offspring? Good stuff.......super stuff, I meant! MZ Thanks again for all the replies every one! Mark, I "learned" the set from a Nevada guy just how it is in the picture! Haha. I have set both ways so the animal is stepping between the jaws rather than over like the pic in the rim rock shelf. I actually prefer to have the trap so the animal is stepping over the jaws on exposed sets. I find it much easier and quicker to place stepping guides and block it in. On a coil spring you want a clear path for that lever to and the way cats are I don't want to leave them that opening to step on the lever and than over the blocking on the far side of the trap, missing the pan completely. Cats are not coyotes they will work any set no matter the blocking and they always step wherever your pan is not, unless you leave them only only one option. The double on cats was two separate sets on opposite sides of a game trail that ran along the edge of tall grass and grease wood creating a high desert "crop change". The tom tangled in the big lone mesquite along the edge of a road and in searching for the other missing trap the female exploded out of a grass clump and ran into the same tree! That day was close to mid January so I'm sure they were paired up for breeding season. Yes that was a jake used with the exposed set. I don't see a need for any bigger of a pan than what the jake or 650 has. The Bridget dogless I'd actually like to round out and cut back a little to lee away from the loose jaw more. I also think step up pans for exposed sets would be awesome!
