Hello my fellow trappers. I have recently found a mentor for trapping. Last year we trapped a decent amount and I was rewarded with a lot of first time catches. First ever catch was a raccoon, also had beaver, muskrat, and possum. The foxes seemed to have aluded me though. It was a great time and I can see myself trapping for the foreseeable future. My mentor was great and supplied me with everything. I'm hoping though I can find some 2nd hand equipment to get me going. Anything from traps to stretchers to packs to cable. Like I said I'm just starting so I don't have much. I'm located by Newark New York in Wayne county. Any gear or ideas where to get gear I'd appreciate. Than you for your time.

If you're halfway handy and you have some tools. You can easily make wooden stretchers. Otherwise, I'd say cruise the rummage sales in your area and you can pick up trapping equipment fairly cheaply. If you were closer, I would give you some stretchers to get you started but I'm way upstate.

I have 22 #1 long springs. Would be great for rats. I bought them but have found I don't need them. $100 and they're yours. I'm located on savannah, NY so I'm close by.
