News reports that the Canadian Dollar is losing value.
What effect does this have on the fur markets.

The fact that the USD is about the strongest currency in the world at this time means that buyers from all other countries are going to have to pay more of their dollars for their purchases.

I'm not sure how much the lower CND dollar will affect the fur market ? I know with the CND $ hovering around $.72 to the US $, Canadian sawmills who purchase logs from the US pay in US dollars and are paying equal or more for US logs than most US based mills. I think the fur market needs to worry more about the Chinese yen, Russian Rubble, and South Korean and Greek currency ?

The USD has lost all but 13 cents of its value over my life time.

True, herm. What once bought a full dollar's worth in 1913 (the year of infamy) is now only worth 4 cents.
