This will be my first set of traps . I will be after coyote and fox . Do I need two or four coil traps . I will be going with MB brand .

Never had an issue using 2 coil 550s for coyotes. It holds them just fine. A 4 coil 550 will not be too friendly on fox, and that will add some pan tension as well.

I four coil all my traps but I only use offset traps so I've never had a problem with foot damage.

Two coil traps are fine. Where a four coil trap is prefered is when there may be possibility of the trap freezing down.
