Made my annual donation to NYSDEC for my trapping license. Bought a lifetime sportsman 11 years ago and added bow hunting and muzzle loading for good measure. Each year I get the trapping part separately. Why I did not go with the lifetime trapping back in the day I will never understand. But the joy of walking out with the tag in my pocket has always been a lifting experience. I don't know what the year will be, but I have the right to walk the land, see sights few others even look at and experience the rush of turning a corner and seeing something in the steel. Or much more often, looking at an empty set but thrilled it has soaked another day making it more likely tomorrow will show fur. It is nice to be able to do all this dreaming and it costs only $ 20.00. I think it is the best money I spend every year. ( Still can't help wondering about the lifetime tag missed decision though.)

That $ 395 lifetime cost makes the annual donation quite reasonable. I think it was nearer $ 180 when I was doing the lifetime purchases. Seemed like too much then, now......what a deal !!
