Wondering about k9 scat . Do some collect it throughout the year and freeze it for next season? Or just make note on where you found it and re look in that location following yr?If you do collect it throughout the year do you use it for guiding or freshen it up with urine and place it like a post set ?

I started carrying dog poop bags just to collect it. I usually deposit it at my post sets, but also I have been freezing it but wonder if ill need to freshen it up next year? Will it still be effective a year later? I've not tried saving it before.
I do have one ant hill that I found as a scent post, have set on it 2 years, it gets freshened during the summer regularly, has accounted for multiple catches both years, I will set it again next year. Seems to be working consistently. Ill use scat as guiding when I set mound set scent posts. I have found fox scat 15 feet up a tree that had broken off and fell like a running pole set, point being that they love crapping as high up as they can. I think mound scent posts take advantage of that.
