I used to nail my Beaver tails on the outside of my shop as a super rednecky decoration. My wife and I bought a new house and she mentioned something about not nailing Beaver tails to the outside of the Garage which serves as my shop. Something about nailing part of MY anatomy right next to them if I did it. Anyway... I think I'd like to try eating them. Has anyone here done it? I watched some Youtube videos where they cook it with the skin on I think it would be easier to skin it first, but I'd like to hear from someone first. What else would you do with them? I feel bad just throwing them out.

i give a bunch of beaver tails to an old man that lives in the area. He says their great to make salt meat with. hes an old cowboy, if you catch him in the woods he will probably be sitting around on a stump eating beaver tail salt meat and crackers. hes pure country. its nothing but fat, i dont see how he does it.

You only live once why not give it a shot.

When I was a teenager my trapping buddy and I caught a beaver. I had read that the Native Americans considered beaver tail a delicosy. So I found a recipe and we cooked it up. Found out why the Indians liked it. Not much flavor, can chew on it all winter and into spring. Then you can feed it to your dog. He'll chew on it for three more days. Please enjoy a little beaver tail....

take your beaver tails, put them in a sealed container and leave in a cool place to rot down. The resulting oil is an excellent bait additive for canines and coon. eat the rest of the animal, instead

After seeing his family wiped out by disease, his village wiped out by soldiers, and his entire nation rounded up and sent off to a Reservation 1,600 miles from their home, the old Indian's reply to the white devil who asked, "What do y'all do wif 'em beever tails, ennyhow?," was: "Best eating of all Great Spirit's creatures. Here is recipe..."
