Lean a long stick against a tree or over a stump that the deer will step over but the canine will go under.

Blind sets are more of a trial and error type thing... If you're talking K9 get low in the summer and look close along a dusty road. You'll see ways to make it happen... Coon pinch em down and get traps in front of them.. Normal year 1/4 to 1/3 of my K9s and about half my coon come from blind sets..

Blind sets once u get use to them they just stick out to you ... when you get a fresh snow go out to your areas in the a.m and look and watch were each one goes and common spots they all gather there step to cross a stick , log or whatever they step over and set where they gather or where they step over too....watch logs crossing a creek or ditch cause fox's love to cross them and are easy to catch at either end ... make your own blind set by finding a trail they use alot early in the season and drop a small sapling or just a dead log the size of your calf and they will get use to it by fall and you will see where they step over it ...
