Has it been slow for everyone else too since the gut piles started hitting the ground?

It has been slow period for me ! Other than a few cats a yote and about 25 coon my skinning knife stays on the shelf ! I have had more mangy critters than I would care to mention, but at least they can't spread it now ! Today I caught my biggest coyote ever!but mangy as sin ! Sane as the three fix I connected with this year ! I do believe the area I'm trapping is infested with mange ridden critters !

Dear Mr. Mike, Waiting on the fisher to clean up the gut piles and dead deer. Dont have a clue where the foxes went but the coyotes keep me complaining enough about skinning them. Regards

Been a little slow since the 7-8 ft of snow hit the ground here in WNY.... There ya go for the most part! I trapped a property last year and caught several manged up coyotes right off the bat most were likely litter mates. After we got them out of the way, the reds started to file back in. I remember one morning seeing more fox tracks than I have never seen before on our access road. Did quite well later in the season and almost all were red fox. Give it time. I know that you have heard about patience over and over but it's the main ingredient.

I have recently learned that mange is predisposition end to genetics I was not aware of that ! So as stated above maybe they were litter mates ! I don't discuss trapping often with my wife but after so many encounters I had to ask. Her being a vet tech explained it ! It comes down to genetics and not being born with the immunities for it !
