The last 5 days seem kinda like a blur !!.......Everybody around me seems amazed at the things I can cram into one 24 hour period Been pretty non stop since Saturdays opener, up at the crack of dawn and setting traps by 8AM. Been so busy I hadn't even packed the truck the night before....Ran our line and punched in more sets Sunday.
Our lone catch on Sunday, our first check....One coyote DOA, upon first arrival we suspected gun shot, same farm as our Bobcat was stolen from last year. But upon alittle CSI on our part, our conclusion was the male pup was in the wrong place and was attacked by a big boy....Gaping hole in his neck, but chalk one up for us !!!! Monday rolled around and we began our first season of Early AM checks before work, wouldn't have been bad if Nyredfox hadn't kept me out all night at The Skinnin Party Had a blast there but I definitely paid the price the next morning with the lack of shut eye !! Monday was a bust, just a Grinner to show, punched in some more sets. Trying for 75 sets by the end of this weekend but only getting a few sets in each day before I have to bail out and think about heading to work. This being self employed thing kinda rules as far as getting a day off But with the amount of work I have on my plate right now I can't stay at it as long as I would like !!
Tuesday morning and our first farm brings us coyote #2 !! Darn shame he had Mange
On to the next farm and coyote #3 ....Finally a beauty, not a mark on him and he's still alive !!
Caught at the same set as our first coyote, so we punched in another set next to it, making it a triple there now.....As we head into Thursday, we have 42 sets in, again today by the time we ran the line there was no time for new sets as WORK was getting in the way !! With 2 roofs in my future in the coming week, one just the tin and the other Trusses, purlins and tin...getting those other 33 sets in and maintaining them is definitely gonna call for a few more cases of Mountain Dew and maybe a Red Bull or 3 !!!
And for those looking for some feedback on the Bridger Dogless #2's..................LOVE them !!! 2 out of 3 coyotes now have been in the Bridger Dogless....and both had the same full paw catch !! Hoping this weekends cold snap will really heat things up !!!
