I posted this not too long ago, but will do so again, This works 100%, guaranteed.
Skunk stink remover:
1/4 cup blue Dawn dish soap 1 cup baking soda 1 quart hydrogen peroxide 1 gallon warm water
Mix all ingredients well, lather liberally into stinky area, let set 10 min., rinse with warm water, repeat.
The sent will be gone when everything is dry.
It works on dogs, people, clothes, furs, and just about any other thing!

I had a 155 on a coon trail. The skunk was in that and I thought it was dead and went around it to get to some dp's down the trail. Turns out he was still alive and decide to let loose.

It's hard to believe that the nasty yellow spray is worth more than the rather beautiful fur.

First skunk Sunday morning in a dirthole set, wanted to reset so I shot the skunk and remade the set, big mistake, got some oil on me my son was dry heaving in the truck, now my wife won't drive it. I read if you shoot a skunk through the chest it won't spray. I found that not to be the case. 3 skunks, all sprayed.

released a couple years ago..... mind you thinkin they were MT on the stink juice b4 i got to them
walked up real slow, real slow dropped a grain sack on them allowed them to calm down stepped on spring levers it was like the skunk knew the procedure, they wouls almost always pull foot out of trap and hunker down waiting to have grain sack pulled off them
I had a long, long piece of baling twine tied to sack to pull it off skunks
but I also had to learn the procedure, so yea, been sprayed a few times
diesel to take off skunk spray then gas to take diesel off then dish soap to take gas off..................

Even if you dispatch the skunk whatever it sprays gets on you if you go near it. Someone told me last year leave it there a couple days. But im not comfortable with leaving a critter even if dispatched so ill always take some stink home. Cant be bothered with a syringe pole either, I actually like the smell. Rest of family disagrees though.

I remember back as a kid, my brother and I never thought the smell was unpleasant but the rest of the family vehemently disagreed, especially when we brought a few home in the trunk of the family car from our camp where we were trapping, about 35 miles away... that quickly became the designated "Skunkmobile." I was too young to drive but my brother drove us up and back, and it was/is 48-hour check so it worked out well for us. And gasoline was under $1/gallon... but that car never smelled right again. In a morbid way, fortunately it was wrecked a couple of years later so it never had to be devalued as a trade-in. Back around the mid-90's or so, I read an article that quoted a nation-wide survey (yeah, paid for with our tax dollars!) which stated that if people were assured their comments would remain anonymous, 65% said they actually liked the smell of skunk; but if their comments would be made public, fewer than 10% would admit to it. Not so weird AFTER all, huh guys?!?!?! lol
