Hey fellas, I've heard after catching a critter, putting it in a trash bag or a large tote and spraying raid in and sealing it up will kill fleas. I'm looking for something strong enough to kill ticks and fleas!!!! The tick are tough to kill. Does anyone have an idea or a spray that kills the ticks do just knock them out. I have been freezing my catches for about 3 weeks and that does the job of killing the tick but makes skinning a pain in the $#@ Is there a spray that can kill the ticks!!!! Please help Pincher

I put the worst of my catches in a plastic bag and use the exhaust from my ATV to blow the bag up. Let them set in the exhaust for about 1/2 hour, turn them a few times. It seems to work fairly well.

Dear Friend, Diatamacous Earth.....most feed stores and bigger garden centers carry it. It comes in powder form and it is lethal on fleas and ticks but it harmless to humans. I use it on my beagles to control fleas and ticks. Regards

I fogged a bag like you were saying using raid it was in a purple can. Someone else has suggested it and it worked well!

Dear Mr. Bearpaws, No, DON'T use the stuff for swimming pool filters. What you want to use is FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.). Food Grade diatomaceous earth is a talc like powder that is the ground remains of fossilized phytoplankton. Sprinkle it on your pets or trapped critters (dry) coat/fur and rub it in. I also sprinkle some in my beagles houses and mix it into their cedar shaving bedding. D.E. turns fleas, ticks, and most any pesky bug into "bug jerky". Regards
