I have a coon hound that will not leave a skunk alone until he has it stone dead. Needless to say, being that he is a house dog as well, I have found a recipe that works 100%.
Here it is; 1 qt. Hydrogen peroxide 1 c. baking soda 1/4 c. liquid Dawn dish soap. (Dawn seems to work the best) 1 gallon warm water.
Mix it all together, soak a towel, mop the dog with the towel until thoroughly soaked, scrub good, let it stand for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. Then repeat. the stink should be gone when the dog is totally dry!
It works!
