Bend the dog down about 5 degrees for every 1/2 pound. You can find instructions on the MTP website.

Sounds great thanks for the quick responce.it was nice and easy to adjust my bridger dogless traps but the mb's had me confused for a minute.

I couldn't find it on that site. Bend it down for more pressure and up for less?

Yotetrap not telling you what to do but I wouldn't touch a thing. Once you dye and wax those traps and scrape the wax off the dog the pan tension will be right where you want it.

Ok sounds good I'll give them a try like they are.I just thought it was a little heavy for grey fox.

I would recommend a pan tension tester, I dyed and waxed mine last year, had a redfox dance on one and not go off
I bought a tester and they're set at 4 1/2 to 5#s, I'm going to bend all my dogs, try to get them down to 2#

Thats what I thought.I took my wolffang earth anchor driver and put it on the pan and it wouldnt set it off and thats probably 3-4 lbs.

Yes understandable if your planning on targeting grey fox. I was assuming with yotetrap as your screen name you were targeting coyotes. MB-450 is a heck of a nice fox trap.

I'm targeting yotes mostly but if the occasional fox steps into a 550 I want to make sure it fires.my friend slays coyotes and fox using duke 2's unmodified and does all hay sets.I'm gonna do the same but with bridger 2 dogless traps and mb 550 traps.ive run with him and seen him trap for years and somehow he gets em good.

Never messed with mine I catch all types of fur with them pull out of the box, dishwasher, wax scrape off wax on dog , I add a shock spring set trap bed with peat moss no need for pan covers or such great trap out of the box for canines gray to yotes, if you are targetinggrays only try 450.i also make most of my sets step downs so the animal forces it weight on pan causing a perfect deep catch.
