how can i dry some beaver castor when its so warm outside? want to use some out of freezer With all this humidity, it will take a lot longer than usual to dry. As Mole says, hang it on a nail or wire. I tie mine off at the top with a string and loop that over the nail. I put a small piece of dry wood between the two individual sacks to keep them from touching. If you have a small, enclosed room, and a Dehumidifier, put your castor in the room with the dehumidifier, and a oscillating fan. Keeping the drying Castor Cool, in the dark, and secure from flies is important also. Don't forget it's there, and as soon as it is dried to your liking, grind it up for use and tincture it with 100 Proof or better alcohol. Otherwise, put your Castor in the freezer until you process it or the Dermestid beetles will make short work of it. w
