OK, here's a reply I just got: In response to your email inquiry regarding open fires, while we do not have a written policy regarding the use of open fires we nevertheless do vigorously discourage the use of open flames within 100 yards of certain individuals displaying symptoms of CEF, also known as Chronic Explosive Flatulence. We appreciate your identifying the convention you'll be attending, as it is this same convention that has prompted us, after many years, to invoke said policy, particularly one individual who has repeatedly displayed extraordinary symptoms of CEF. On more than one occasion, the Frankfort Volunteer FD has been summoned to investigate, as has the Herkimer County Sewage Treatment Plant supervisor. In all cases, it turned out to be the chronic flatulent release of one certain mustachioed individual wearing glasses and a beanie cap. Since there are no local ordinances against CEF, we reluctantly declined prosecution and informed the families of those hospitalized due to being overcome by the toxic fumes that they had no legal recourse and that if in the future they desired to remain free of the effects of CEF they should not attend said convention. We strive to answer all questions and inquiries as completely as possible and it is our hope that we have done so. However, in case we have not, we suggest that you contact either of our No. 2 liaison regarding any further questions regarding this matter, Willie Makit or Betty Dhont. Thank you. Sorry, Von.

OK, MZ, this time the email response is for real, legit, and all that. I just got a reply from the Herkimer County Fairgrounds rep, "Gerry:" grills only no on ground campfires-gerry That's the entire content of the email, copied and pasted, unedited. Hope this helps! - Tim

You nailed that one, tmc. Think I peed a little. It seems that I generally have that effect on people... I either make the people laugh and pee (do I hear a melody of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" to go along with that statement? ) or just get them pee'd off. Rarely in-between? Oh well, c'est la vie.

Hey Von, whadaya mean "one incident"? I remember being forced to sleep in the same camper as you up to Zerbie last year. OMG ! Had to have my stomache pumped, retched for three days. I don't know if it's all that Blue or those Flatiron apples, but you've really got a problem! I don't know how your little lady stands it. Hope to see you at Frankfort, but believe me I'll be sitting up wind!

Al, I called Michelle and asked her if it was alright for me to serve a bbq beans dish with five different kinds of beans, hot sauce and jalapeno peppers mixed in. She said that would be fine, so long as Von comes home to stay with me until October 1st. Not sure what she meant by that, I was puzzled.

Joel im bringing a life jacket so if you decide to play with the cooler you dont fall in and drown, most of the flatiron crew dont show up till friday afternoon, if looking for the location go to back gate walk on right side of fench half way to the road is where it all happens, once you are there you will never want to leave , until von farts.

I'd walk thirty minutes away to a different portajohn (provided I could hold it that long) rather than get in one of those things after Von's been in it We may be pretty good friends, but..........................................................

as of now it looks like Friday might be the day for me,as far as wild game to pass I'll have to bring something a little more domestic.....that is unless I can scrape up some fairly fresh roadkill before Thursday..but either way I sure am looking forward to the trip, hope to see everyone then..
