Mr Alex Alberti passed away this week after a long battle. He was a legend among the old school Catskill Mountains trappers. He was a tough, strong, rugged man, the type of person that personified what people think when they envisioned a trapper. He had trailers of coyote pelts that he tanned and sold to .customers on his own. I saw photos of him in the 70' s with hundreds and hundreds of foxes. He had a museum at his house that had taxidermy of every animal in ny and then some.
I was proud to call Mr. Alberti my friend. May your traps be filled always.

He lived his entire life in Windham except for when he was in the Korean War.

I think I might have met him through a mutual friend,Stan Sole, about 25 yrs. ago. I remember his museum with all his mounts if its the same man. I have pictures of his museum.
