Have a jar of Cosmetic grade lanolin. Has or is lanolin used in any lure formulas ? It has sort of a Barn smell like the bagged wool I get.

Dear Friend, lanolin is the extruded oil/grease from sheep's wool. Some use it as base for lures/ baits. It has a low melting point and will liquify during warm weather and has a vaseline type consistency during cool weather.
Here's a formula that works 8 oz canned sardines in oil. (mashed) 8 oz lanolin 8 oz cod liver oil 2 oz ground mink glands 2 oz ground beaver castor 1/4 oz civet musk Mix well and age at least a month .....for cold weather use add 10 drops of skunk essence
Regards
