Here is some spring photos from a trip my partner, I and friends took last spring. I didnt get the photos till today. WEre going again in two weeks. This place has the most beaver sign I have ever seen. I will describe it like this. THe amount of sign and the number of beaver at this location was crazy and a breath takeing sight to behold. Enjoy. I will post more this weekend of the trip. Sorry I havent posted any trapping pictures this season. MY camera isnt compatible for some reason. When I get a chance I will ask clt to post some fur pics for me from the first half of this season and maybe some from last year. The kid in the middle of the first photo is one of my beaver partners. The rest are relatives in the other photos and one is a friend. I hope everyone had a decent season!

I hope the water is opened enough by then. Looks like it should break next week.
Can't wait to see more pics.

My partner and I depart later this week. We are bringing a newbie, with us that is a year younger. I have the biggest trap rig between my partner and I, so I plan on bringing a bunch of extra traps for the other kid to set. He has his grandfathers rat traps, but I will bring some conibears for him and may let him use some of my 7.5 inch beaver footholds as long as he swears on a wallet not to lose them. I cant wait. WE got 7 or 8 more lodges to hit plus the bank dens and lodges we hit last year. My partner is really wanting to trap mink and rats, so we will be setting a lot of sets for them as well. BEst part is we dont have to sleep in a tent or lean-to. We get a camp with a flatscreen tv and utilities 50 feet from the flow. YAAAAAH! I will have to get some pictures to share with everyone. MAybe the other will be on there cycle through if were lucky, I will have to bring some mb-550s for those otter.

I assume you have someone on location who verified water is open and flowing right now. Last weekend I drove thru much of Jefferson and St Lawrence counties, water was all locked up tight with ice and several inches of packed snow on top. I-81 was full of snowmachine trailers behind trucks, heading for Tug Hill area. Hopefully you've got spring trapping conditions on location. Just make sure you know what's there at the time. I expected to find what I found, so for me it was a 463 mile round-trip sightseeing day

I know a few water trappers that do outstanding after the water freezes...go get-em Minkman!!!! me too... but this ain't hard-ice season now. This is rotted-ice season where everything is breaking up and rising. So walking on ice is almost over and working open water may not be here yet. go get-em if you can reach 'em, is the fair warning
