Who uses them and what make ?? How are your results ? Best baits to use ? Duke, Griz, Coon Cuffs, Alcatraz, etc. I'm considering trying some of the Z-traps.....they are powder coated !

I have gone almost exsclusively to dog-proof traps. Have had good luck with the Duke (cost). Using this traps has opened alot of doors for me. Showing the land owner how the trap works is a big plus. They are light weight, pre-bait them and trow em in the back of the pickup in a crate ready to go. These traps are supper fast to make sets with. Either a spiked cat food bait or marshmellow. The Z-traps look good would like to try them. MB

I use duke, daggers and griz. ALL are good but the dagger works the smoothest. i use jack mack as bait. I put them in on my fox line, and wait till there full, its that easy. I prefer the new look, I tried white and brown and black, they all work but I think shine is best. As far as the push pull trigger, I dont see any catch increase, but I did install the kits on most. Mice are a problem I have not solved yet. Also some coon pick the thing up and I dont think they are effective on thier side.

Yes right out of the box. I set all the coon trails around several corn field,s in the early season, it was quite easy and no trash, just coon and very few opposum, still no skunk in a dp.
later on I set them in coony spots on my K-9 line, just freshen the bait before the warm nites. Best tool to come along in my 35 + years trapping.
One thing I found is most times the set only catches 1 coon . I move down the trail to a new spot and have luck. I set HEAVY because of all they problems. I run the finned ss with the retrieve cable so i can Move them real easy.

I have been using about 240 Grizz for the last 6 years . I run them on Drowners on 2 different lines . I love them . I bait with ground fish and keep It below the trigger so It wont freeze the trigger down . I don't think any of the brands you mentioned will disappoint you . Here's a 6 week catch , 938 coon and some other stuff taken with Body Grips ......

I talked with the guy who owns the Z-trap business at the NTA Convention the begining of this month and he said he planned on coming to our NYSTA Convention next week. If he makes it, he offers a real good demo of his trap at his booth, and it is impressive. The Z-trap offers features the other mentioned traps do not, and they are priced less than the Duke trap. I bought a dozen of each color, along with the special caps allowing you to prebait, and keep mice out of the trap prior to the coon checking it out. Like anything new, you have to try it out giving it a good workout before passing judgement or recommendations.
