Here's my skinning machine. Self contained unit Trying to give it a good workout ...hope it works !!! Gambrel and base both rotate 360* if needed or can be locked in place 12 feet high 120v winch with a plexiglass splash gaurd 1 1/2" Square steel tubing

is the spatter shield for when you pull the animal in to or to protect the winch? i am going to try a set of chain falls & i all ready have a base I hope it works.

It's to keep blood / fat / stuff from getting on the winch. I went with plexiglass so I can see any potential problems with the cable when it is re-wound on the drum. I just felt more comfortable being able to see it operate Once I do a few on it, I'll see if any problems pop up

whats up with the overhead door being so high off the floor ? nice rig for sure ! I made it high enough to drive my backhoe inside if I have to work on it. I just framed around that clearance height when I built the shed. The bottom panel can be easily removed

tom how tall is the unit you made as i have 10' ceilings & having height issues

Mine is a 11 feet 4 inches .
Ten foot would be barely on the edge from what I see...or too small
Is there any place you could put a "bump" up between the rafters to get another foot or two ??
So far, no problems but I see something I want to change after the season
Really saves your back and your hands. My hands got tired from holding the hide and pulling....not anymore
My guess is that 12 feet would be great

It works great Denny !! I want to add an arm to the top the same length as the bottom. Then I'll have a straight pull up and down and not an angled pull. They tend to bang against the main beam...just think it would be better
