Anyone out here use these and if so do you experience a lot if pullouts? The only pullouts I gave ever had was with these traps but have also caught a few in them as well including opposum and skunk. They are offset if that means anything . thanks for any info

Woj I really like the BMI k 9 wolfer traps. They are offset but I still hold most of the coon that get into them. I set mostly for k9s so a coon miss every now and then happens. Most of the skunks that find them are still waiting on me in the morning! ;D I love that trap thou they should have a base plate added to them cause the factory set up is a bit weak for 4 coiled traps.

Good trap, bad frame. they need to be baseplated AND a gusset piece added on the dog side of the cross frame on the bottom and welded in to the stock cross...they tend to bend up like a bowl. I reinforce the dogs too. Any time I buy some, I stiffen the frame and add a new chain set-up....they sell fast. Stilll get some who contact me asking if I had any. Those big, wide jaws are perfect with no need for lams

Yeah I love the jaws but every time I have a pull out it seems to be with these traps. These are 2 coiled, not 4. I don't believe they are the wolfers as when I bought them they were labeled as the specials. Maybe they were so special the only thing I can hold is a skunk or opposum in them.
Tom, you suggest removing the factory "PIT" type swivel and adding a baseplate? What about 4 - coiling? Any pictures of one modified the NightStalker way?

Woj, if yours are the "specials" they will have the springs under the levers and they are not near as good a trap as the K9 Wolfers which are four coiled with the springs on a pin similar to Bridgers, Victors, etc. I have several dozen of the K9 Wolfers and love them as an all around dirt trap in the south for cats, grey fox, coon, coyotes, etc. Sometimes a big coyote bends them up a bit as Tom has said and if you are going to use them up here as a serious coyote trap the modifications he is suggesting would be appropriate. I'd add one more thing, too. The dogs are weak and sometimes even a coon or cat has them bent up badly. Coyotes sometimes completely remove them. So a better quality dog would be suggested as well. If you have the "specials", get rid of them and buy the Wolfers !

woj i got some of the 1 3/4 base plated them, different chain system will hold yotes but are better for fox & coon, as stated the dogs get pretty bent up but straighten out good to go , i bought some from john 2 years ago, the yotes tear them up adding a shock spring helps also .
